Stage Zero- Self employed entrepreneur

In 1999, Engineer Pedro Costa started his activity as sole trader becoming a Trainer/Lecturer in mechanical engineering and automotive electronics for several companies in northern Portugal.
 
In  2000, with the Know-How, resulting from his several professional experiences – amongst those the role of “ VW Engines Development Engineer” at Auto-Europa, he decided to start providing automotive electronic services to private customers.

A Speed Factor Lda underwent 3 development stages:

Between December of 1999 and December of 2002, the structural bases of the business had been created, through the creation of nets of agents and representatives, private and institutional, that included some concessionaires, Bosch Service Centres, among others. At this moment, the power increments were carried only on vehicles powered by diesel engines.

One of the essential concerns, since the start, was based on the execution of a service, with total guarantee of quality, sustained in the development of bespoke solutions for every client and his/hers vehicle.

In a second stage, after January 2003, was initiated a strategy of diversification and dissemination of new services, having assured the maintenance of the position of leadership in the market.

The Services had been diversified, mainly with Power Increase in petrol powered vehicles, Electronic Diagnostic Services, Fuel Consumption Reductions in companies and private costumers vehicles.


Another area under development is that of Consultancy to Race and Rally Car Preparation Engineers, Companies and Teams, whose level of requests has been increasing, due to the prestige the name Speed Factor holds in the market and the excellent customer references. With this multiplication on the catalogue of available services, the potential market grew significantly, both in number and in reach, transforming the initial regional scope into a national one. It has now become a multinational one as well.

In a third stage, coincident with moving from Sole Trader for the incorporation of Speed Factor Consultancy and Engineering Technical Services Ltd. in September of 2003, the amount of services was widened. Namely with the development of cooperation protocols with official importers of different marques and with some reputable foreign car preparation companies, with the objective of offering Consultancy and Training Services in the areas of electronics, mechanics and management.

 
From May 2004, Speed Factor introduced a new service: Up-Grade of Boat Diesel Engines anywhere in the country

 

FS SPEED FACTOR

In January 2007, with the creation of FS SPEED FACTOR, a very important step is taken in the automotive sector as a Technologic Centre for Automotive Excellence opens in Sao Joao da Madeira.

This project comes from a perfect symbiosis between the experience and know-how of more than 7 years of the daring and the innovative team at "Speedfactor", and the commercial acumen of the internationally recognized automotive group "Fernando Simao".
